Welcome to Raus.

When is it okay to start dreaming about winter? For us in BC, we’ve never stopped.

We’ve been ready for November to roll around. To start counting down the days for resorts to open, back country areas to have enough coverage and to change over to our winter tires. Isn’t it time to get the ol’ roof rack back on and have a car loaded with winter survival items just in case of bad weather and crappy road conditions. With the AC blasting we’ve been sitting around in our Ninja Suits and down layers waiting for our favorite month to roll around.

Now that November is one nights sleep away and the first of the resorts look at starting to spin their lifts in the coming weeks- we want to take a second to welcome a few of the new faces to Raus this year.

Pass PowderKeg is a community-owned ski area, designed for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities where there’s no need to hunt for parking, battle for space to turn on the slopes or go to the bank to finance a family ski trip. We couldn’t find a bad review about this place, the people that ski and board here love this Mountain. We can’t wait to check it out – and you should too! Open day is TBA so keep your eyes on their social media but we’ve been hearing whispers that it’s not too far away!

Castle Mountain  isn’t run by accountants working for some mega-corporation. Since its reincarnation (back in ’96) it has been owned and operated by skiers who are driven by adrenaline, not profit. They believe in dry powder snow. They believe in challenging terrain. And they believe that the right combination of these elements will provide experiences of a lifetime for those who, like them, live to ski. (we stole this from their website because we really couldn’t have said it better ourselves) Welcome to Raus Castle Mountain. We can’t wait to wake you up

Mt. Tremblant is located in the heart of Québec. With spectacular views and welcoming atmosphere you’ll quickly find yourself in love with this bilingual Resort. Find a quiet run to take it all in or head into the picturesque pedestrian village and meet people from all over Quebec, Canada, the US. The locals won’t shut up about this place (seriously they wouldn’t stop messaging us to get them on the app) and its not hard to see why. Wax up those skis and boards for Opening Day on November 23rd.

Marmot Basin is located in Jasper Alberta. As if there weren’t enough fantastic reason to visit this region of Western Canada, Marmot Basin is another to add to the list. Their opening day is November 10th and we’re thinking its going to be well worth the drive. They boast of having the highest base elevation of all Canadian ski areas(spring skiing anyone?) fantastic dry Alberta powder and a group of dedicated skiers and boarders that just keep coming back ( and with views like this – we totally get it)

Silver Star Mountain Resort  is a home away from home for many Okanagan residents. This colourful resort offers all the amenities while still having a small ski town vibe. With its four distinct mountain faces and 132 runs, this Mountain is proudly a ski-in, ski-out resort. From families and beginners Silver Star is the perfect place to explore. For the adventurous, the backside of the mountain is an uncrowded paradise of over 1,900 acres of steep and deep, black and double black diamond runs. Set your Raus alarms to start going off November 23rd!

We’re always looking for more Resorts and ski Areas. If you’ve been on the app and haven’t seen you’re home mountain, let us know! We love sending emails (some days its all we do) Other days we don’t send any and we snowboard instead. #workhard

Android / IOS

Thanks to all our users that continue to follow along and cheer us on. If you’re new to the app – for the next couple days you get to watch as we tidy it all up for our 2017/2018 re-launch.

See you out there
